POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Qcells is seeking an experienced Interconnect Power System (IPS) (PV and Battery) Field Operations Director to lead Qcells entry into the New Homes space with EPC & financing services. You will be part of the new homes' operations team, creating and developing standards for excellence in field performance. You will be managing installation contractors and in-house field managers while working to support homebuilders and our business development teams when applicable. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our construction performance aligns seamlessly with the needs of the modern homebuilder.
This position will be based out of one of our offices in Irvine, CA; San Francisco, CA; or Teaneck, NJ, with a potential in-office schedule set at the direct manager’s discretion in accordance with the company policies and procedures. Remote work may be considered for exceptional cases.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•New roofer/installer contract negotiations with support from VP and Legal.
•New contractor onboarding in collaboration with inside operations manager/director.
•Assist in establishing critical project tracking standards, QC expectations, and safety requirements.
•Lead and develop solar field managers, creating expectation for performance, workload limits, and KPI’s.
•Oversee remote and field activations managers to ensure excellence in complete and timely system activations post close/PTO.
•Collaborate with all departments to align goals and expectations. Support customer care, O&M, Inventory, Interconnections, and Project managers with field resources when needed.
•Interact with the Business Development team to provide technical sales support when needed, including face to face builder sales meetings.
•May be required to support procurement/supply chain with material ordering process management and end of month/quarter/end of year inventory reconciliation.
•Review operational procedures and ensure conformance to industry best practices.
•Analyze and monitor solar contractors’ performance and review scorecard results with installer.
•Assist in building out internal CRM features and various other business tools.
•Assist in team hiring and management and lead team in the Vice President’s absence or departure.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or other related field with a minimum of 15 years’ professional work experience, including 8+ years’ experience in residential new homes solar development.
•Strong understanding of building codes and regional codes.
•Deep understanding of the homebuilding solar industry and its market dynamics.
•Ability to ideate, develop and execute strategic plans, in close collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
•Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced customer-centric environment where priorities may change quickly.
•Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership, team management, graphic and CAD design skills, and account management, including managing multiple contractors.
•Impeccable attention to detail as well as a detailed analytical thinker with the ability to solve problems and adjust to changing conditions and situations.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas, vision and strategy in internal and external forums.
•Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated ability to thrive in a high-growth environment.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
