Job Summary
The Director of IT Operations is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and day-to-day management of Priority Power's IT infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud environments (Azure and AWS). This leader will ensure the integrity, availability, performance, and security of all network, server, and infrastructure services. The successful candidate will bring a proven track record of managing complex enterprise-grade infrastructure operations, leading high-performing IT teams, and supporting a secure and resilient technology environment aligned with business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
•Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead the IT Infrastructure & Operations team, including network engineers, system administrators, and IT support personnel. Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture emphasizing service excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
•Strategic Planning: Collaborate with leadership to define the technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term goals.
•Infrastructure Management: Oversee design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of all network, server, storage, and related systems—across both cloud (Azure and AWS) and on-premise environments. Ensure high availability and scalability of enterprise IT systems supporting business operations.
•Cloud Strategy and Governance: Develop and execute cloud infrastructure strategy, optimizing workload placements between Azure, AWS, and on-prem systems. Drive cost-effective, secure, and compliant cloud adoption practices in collaboration with Development and Information Security teams.
•IT Operations and Service Delivery: Lead IT operations in alignment with ITIL best practices, ensuring timely resolution of incidents, service requests, and problems. Establish and monitor KPIs and SLAs for IT service delivery, system performance, and support responsiveness.
•Security and Compliance: Partner with the Information Security function to ensure alignment of infrastructure operations with company security standards, NERC CIP requirements, and other relevant regulations. Implement controls and monitoring for system access, patch management, backups, disaster recovery, and incident response.
•Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key vendors and SaaS partners, ensuring the best value and service for the organization.
•Technology Oversight: Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to best practices in software development, cloud infrastructure, and system architecture.
•Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Operations, Finance, and IT) to ensure integration of custom applications with existing systems.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.
Experience
•10+ years of progressive IT Infrastructure experience with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
•Proven experience managing hybrid cloud (AWS and Azure) and on-prem infrastructure in a mid-size or enterprise-level organization.
•Proven success leading infrastructure transformation initiatives, including cloud migration and data center modernization.
Technical Skills
•Proficiency in cloud infrastructure and services (IaaS, PaaS, hybrid cloud configurations) in Azure and AWS.
•Hands-on knowledge of networking, firewalls, VPN, storage, virtualization, Windows servers, Active Directory, and endpoint management.
•Familiarity with infrastructure automation, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and monitoring tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Datadog, SolarWinds).
•Understanding of IT security, compliance, and incident response procedures.
