We are seeking a Director, IT Operations & Enablement to join our team. This pivotal role reports directly to the CIO and requires an exceptional “working leader” to ensure operational excellence in IT support, manage strategic relationships with outsourced Managed IT and Managed Security providers, and drive continual improvement of IT-centric processes using advanced Microsoft technologies. Responsibilities
•Provide senior leadership over day-to-day IT operations, focusing on responsive, metrics-driven break/fix resolution and proactive support.
•Lead weekly ticket management, prioritizing and ensuring resolution in partnership with internal IT staff and outsourced Managed IT providers.
•Define and implement high-performance operational standards, service level agreements (SLAs), and best practices.
•Serve as the senior technical resource for networking, including advanced configuration, troubleshooting, and management of physical multi-site firewalls, routers, switches, access points, and related infrastructure.
•Work closely with Managed IT partners to ensure network reliability, security, and performance.
•Ensure reliable operation of Azure/Fabric based servers and applications as developed by our engineering organization.
•Develop and maintain ongoing cost-of-operation metrics.
•Assist in Azure resource group management and role-based access control.
•Drive IT process improvements through the strategic use of Microsoft Entra, Azure, and the Microsoft 365/E5 platform.
•Lead continuous improvement initiatives, automating repetitive processes, and ensuring best practices in IT process documentation and workflows.
•Act as the primary liaison with outsourced Managed IT and Managed Security providers, managing performance, contracts, and ensuring alignment with corporate IT objectives and standards.
•Provide advanced technical mentorship to internal IT team members, fostering professional growth and promoting a collaborative, continuous-improvement culture.
Qualifications
•12+ years progressive experience in IT operations and support, including significant direct leadership experience.
•Expert-level knowledge in network infrastructure and security (firewalls, routing/switching, wireless networks).
•Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Entra, Azure, Microsoft 365 E5 suite, specifically Power Automate, Lists, Loop, and SharePoint.
•Proven track record leading high-performance, metric-focused IT teams.
•Track record of results and relationship management of third-party Managed IT and Security providers.
•Demonstrated ability to define, implement, and optimize IT processes and workflows in complex corporate environments.
•Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of effectively interacting with all organizational levels.
•Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems or related field.
•Relevant certifications are highly desirable (e.g., Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Network Engineer, ITIL certification).
