Role Purpose:
•The Manager H&S Sub-region will manage the HS activities in the clusters of the subregion, help the global HS function to deliver its HS initiatives for the organisation and promote a positive H&S culture to safeguard safe and healthy workplaces
Responsibilities:
•Manage the implementation of the global HS program in his/her geographical area (subregion) and create a strong culture of Health and Safety in the organisation
•Advise, risk assess and evaluate complex and capital-intensive projects with impact on HS
•Verify, monitor, coach and correct where needed the clusters in the use of Risk Management tools (risk registers, SOPs and LMRA use)
•Ensure correct data on the HS performance of his/her geographical area and timely reporting of HS KPIs. Investigate and report HS incidents in accordance with Sibelco Standards and ICMM definitions. Participate in Incident Review Meetings
•Translate (complex) HS legislation into simple and practical way of working as and ensure implementation by Operational Site Leadership
•Identify the need for business support systems, reporting improvement opportunities and training needs. Identify opportunities for improvements in processes and installations
•Participate in Due Diligence, (external) audit processes and HS workshops and conferences
About you:
•Bachelor or master degree qualified professional in occupational HS, IH or related discipline, or equivalent by experience
•Prior relevant experience
•English– proficient verbal & writing
•Local language of the country of base and main operations – proficient verbal & writing
