Job Summary and Description:
The Director of Accounting is responsible for the organization’s global accounting operations, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
•Advises VP of Finance and Accounting on financial matters involving the company and its subsidiaries
•Supports the internal and external financial reporting requirements for EPRI, including reports to EPRI management and the EPRI Board of Directors
•Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
•Implement and manage financial controls and policies.
•Manages corporate travel and expense processing, including the relationship with Concur.
•Ensures reconciliation of all bank accounts.
•Support annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial forecasting.
•Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
•Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
•Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
•Monitor and manage cash flow, including forecasting and optimizing working capital.
•Provide insightful financial analysis to support business decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
•Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
•Coordinate and oversee audit activities and liaise with internal and external auditors.
•Manage internal audit processes and ensure compliance with internal controls.
•Oversees payroll staff, processing and related G/L accounting functions, including the contract and relationship with US and Non-US based vendors responsible for payroll and tax processing.
•Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System Management: Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the company's ERP system (SAP) to ensure accurate and efficient financial reporting.
•Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
•Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate department staff.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting required; MBA or CPA preferred.
•15+ years of managing a team of financial professionals in a corporate environment.
•Experience with accounting in a consulting environment is preferred.
•Non-profit experience and international accounting experience preferred.
•Experience with ERP accounting and reporting – SAP 4 HANA highly preferred

The salary range for this position is $195,000 USD to $215,000 USD annually.This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s annual incentive program. The amount of incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the plan.This role is eligible to participate in EPRI’s standard employee benefit programs, which currently include the following: medical, dental, vision, 401k, STD/LTD and paid family leave, life and accident insurance, paid time off (flexible vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay).EPRI participates in E-Verify, an online system operated jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and the Social Security Administration (SSA).
