About This Job

Summary

The Boring Machine Operator position is responsible for drilling and laying pipe, lines and other materials underground.

Required Experiences

•

5+ years’ experience in boring, wiring, and heavy machine operations.

•

Knowledge of terminology associated with boring.

•

Attention to detail and initiative to be self-motivated and directed.

•

Ability to listen, follow directions and communicate effectively.

•

Ability to manage time and work independently or with other team members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•

Conduct daily safety briefings.

•

Maintain safe working conditions at all times.

•

Maintain condition, functionality and use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times.

•

Operate machinery such as boring machines, back hoes, and excavators safely and accurately.

•

Travel as required for jobs to ensure project management is on schedule.

•

Remain on call 24/7 for UP and KDOT issues.

•

Physical Demands

Duties may require:

•

Standing, walking, bending, kneeling and/or sitting for long periods of time

•

Climbing ladders to reach ceilings and other high objects

•

Push/Pull/Lift/Moving 50 pounds repeatedly

•

Working in adverse weather conditions
