About the Role

We are seeking a Digital Oilfield Solutions Engineer to design, implement, and optimize data-driven solutions that improve operational efficiency, safety, and decision-making in upstream oil and gas operations. This role bridges traditional field engineering with next-generation digital technologies — integrating IoT, analytics, automation, and cloud-based systems into real-world oilfield applications.

You will collaborate with operations, production, and IT teams to deliver end-to-end digital solutions that enable smarter and more sustainable oilfield operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, deploy, and support digital oilfield (DOF) solutions across drilling, production, and asset management domains.

- Integrate IoT sensor networks, edge devices, and field automation systems with cloud or enterprise platforms.

- Develop and maintain data workflows, dashboards, and analytics models for real-time monitoring and performance optimization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define use cases, architecture, and KPIs for digital transformation initiatives.

- Conduct proof-of-concept (POC) projects to evaluate emerging technologies (AI, ML, digital twins, predictive maintenance).

- Support field engineers and operators with training, troubleshooting, and change management for new digital systems.

- Ensure all solutions align with cybersecurity, scalability, and interoperability standards.

- Liaise with vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate best-in-class oilfield digital technologies.

Qualifications

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

- 5+ years of experience in upstream oil and gas operations, automation, or digital solutions engineering.

- Proven experience in implementing digital oilfield or production optimization platforms.

- Hands-on experience with SCADA systems, IoT gateways, real-time data historians (OSIsoft PI, AVEVA, Kongsberg, etc.), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud).

- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Power BI, Grafana, Spotfire, etc.) and Python/SQL scripting for analytics or automation.

- Understanding of oilfield workflows (drilling, completions, artificial lift, reservoir monitoring, etc.).

Preferred Skills & Competencies

- Knowledge of digital twin development and machine learning models for predictive analytics.

- Strong grasp of OT/IT convergence and edge computing.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and adapt to dynamic field environments.

- Passion for digital transformation and continuous improvement in oilfield operations.
