Job Summary:
The Digital Manager will continue to drive the success of EDG DIGITAL. As a member of the senior leadership team and reporting to the Global Digital Business Manager, the role will drive growth and execution excellence across the digital portfolio. This is a dynamic seller-doer role responsible for driving both the acquisition of new business and execution of project/consulting engagements. The candidate will manage and support study delivery across the portfolio of EDG services and will also drive internal development of approaches, systems and solutions across EDG.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manage the day-to-day operations of the EDG DIGITAL team in North America
•Drive growth in the region by proactively finding and maturing opportunities for the Digital team in conjunction with the broader EDG team
•Adopt a strategic mindset to develop and define the digital strategy for the region in consultation with the global leadership team
•Consult and support the development and review of commercial proposals in coordination with operations and business development;
•Leads consulting activities with clients to frame problem statements, ideate options, prioritize initiatives and develop implementation roadmaps based on sound business plans and KPIs
•Provides leadership to client project teams to deliver digital outcomes across operational disciplines
•Delivers technical outcomes as part of projects with a focus on agile delivery, deep domain expertise and pragmatic solutions
•Focal point for internal technical initiatives and drives development of solutions across the EDG portfolio
•Creation of thought leadership articles and development of relevant insights
•Represent EDG at conferences and trade events to highlight the capabilities of the digital group
•Interacts directly with client on all project and technical matters
•Support business development and liaise directly with clients for the development of proposals
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
Basic or Minimum Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline;
•Fifteen (15) plus years of technical engineering and/or consulting experience in asset intensive industries;
•Ten (10) plus years of business management experience with P&L responsibilities
•Extensive knowledge in engineering and operational requirements of industries and broad knowledge of consulting, change management, supply chain, and project economics;
•Proven record of development and delivery of digital solutions, asset digitization systems, and strategic consulting services
•Experience with digital system framing, development, configuration and deployment including use case development and prioritization, roadmap construction and business case development
•Sound knowledge of digital tools and techniques including database management, machine learning and data science
•Skill in oral and written communication;
•Strong organizational skills related to engineering activities.
•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
•Ability to interact and collaborate with peers across the organization;
•Requires the ability and availability to travel offsite as required.
Preferred Qualifications
•Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar discipline;
Working Conditions:
•Work is primarily conducted in an office environment (Private or Semi-Private Office) but also requires occasional travel to off-site work locations;
•Field duties require outdoor work in a construction site type atmosphere;
•Interaction with other team members, as well as supervisors and client personnel;
•Working on a construction site or in plant and/or shop areas around production machinery with extreme noise levels
•Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection;
•May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes;
•May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.
