Location: Various job sites with local travel as needed (SC, NC, GA)

Position Type: Full-Time Compensation: $26 – $41 per hour, based on experience

Utility Partners of America (UPA) is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Diesel Technician / Field Mechanic to support our growing fleet operations. This role plays a key part in maintaining the performance and reliability of our diesel trucks and heavy equipment across various field projects. Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel and gasoline truck engines and heavy equipment

2. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on large and small bucket trucks

3. Experience with aerial equipment would be great

4. Conduct routine inspections and scheduled servicing

5. Utilize diagnostic software to assess check engine lights and system errors

6. Maintain service records and communicate equipment status to supervisors

7. Travel to equipment locations and be willing to stay overnight should the need arise

8. Work safely in various outdoor weather conditions, be attached to the storm team during storm response

9. May require extended hours based on operational needs

Required Qualifications:

1. Minimum 2 years of diesel technician experience or completion of a relevant technical certification program

2. Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record

3. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and MVR check

4. Proficient in hydraulic and electrical diagnostics

5. Must provide personal hand tools (wrenches, ratchets, sockets, etc.); the company provides power tools and specialty equipment

6. Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills

7. Excellent attendance and punctuality are critical

8. CDL license is a plus, but not required
