This position is responsible for supporting Greenfire’s asset development strategy and planning function including the ongoing assessment of facility projects and SAGD wells at our Demo and Hangingstone Expansion assets. This role works closely with all engineering disciplines to identify development opportunities.
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
· Build and steward Greenfire’s long term asset development plans, including capital budgets, production forecasts, economics, regulatory application support, and early-stage project planning.
· Model scenarios by gathering analogue data and developing models to support the development plan of the assets.
· Analyzes asset performance, recommends asset depletion plans and manage forecasts for near term sustainability and long-term planning of well pads.
· Leads competitor analysis on the SAGD industry and provides presentations and updates to management.
· Support executive and board of director presentation materials within the development scope.
· Providing recommendations with industry best practices and emerging trends by developing strong relationships with external stakeholders.
· Collaborate in the capital and budget planning process by providing data to drive recommendations for short- and long-term strategic optimization of assets.
· Work closely with the subsurface and engineering teams in reviewing and booking corporate reserves while evaluating comprehensive assessment of assets.
· Support collaboration within Greenfire’s joint venture at the Hangingstone Expansion asset.
· Valid APEGA membership with a Professional Engineer designation
· 5+ years of experience in the in-situ thermal oil sands industry with an aptitude for economics
· Experience in a subsurface focused engineering role or in an engineering project management role supporting a development discipline, such as drilling, completions, production, reservoir, project or process engineering.
· Experience in the Canadian Oil and Gas industry, specifically with comparable in-situ thermal oil sands field operations is a required skillset.
· Knowledge of well completions, thermal operations, production and development, completions, and wellbore hydraulics
· Strong working knowledge and proficiency with Excelmodelling, and the Office365 suite as well as petroleum industry software such as Geoscout would be considered an asset.
