Job Description:
Project Planning:
•Review and analyze deeds, plats, boundary points, and title documents to establish accurate project baselines.
•Assist in developing the field execution plan, ensuring alignment with project goals and regulatory requirements.
Project Execution:
•Provide ongoing support and guidance to Survey Crews, Project Managers, and Project Coordinators, to ensure surveying activities are conducted accurately and efficiently.
•Communicate regularly with Survey Crews and Office personnel to address challenges, clarify requirements, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
•Review alignment sheets, and other critical documents to verify accuracy and compliance.
Final Drafting and Certification:
•Review project drawings (typically as a secondary reviewer) and provide detailed redlines to ensure precision and completeness.
•Work collaboratively with the team to finalize deliverables and achieve certification.
Team Collaboration:
•Operate within a team-based operational structure, which includes Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Field Technicians.
•Collaborate with other Professional Land Surveyors (PLSs) across the organization to share knowledge, best practices, and resources.
•Adapt your level of involvement based on team needs and your confidence in the team’s capabilities, whether that means taking a hands-on approach or providing high-level oversight.
Qualifications:
•Current/Active registration as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in Iowa or the ability to obtain license through reciprocity.
Experience:
•Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, with a focus on pipeline or linear projects preferred.
Technical Skills:
•Proficiency in reviewing deeds, plats, boundary points, and title documents.
•Strong understanding of surveying software and tools, as well as drafting and CAD principles.
Soft Skills:
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear guidance to field teams.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment.
Travel:
•Willingness to travel to project sites in Iowa as needed.
