Job Summary
Perform daily work activities with direct to moderate supervision. Work activities to be performed include but not limited to computer aided drafting to develop power equipment parts, assemblies and designs and to assist with drawings development in Inventor and AutoCAD. The position includes associated clerical work to properly manage and document the work activities performed, as per AEP requirements for the position.

M-F, OT as needed, Travel 5%, No overnight stays expected.Job designation is On-Site. Candidate will work onsite Monday-Friday, with option for 4x10 Monday – Thursday or Tuesday-Friday.
Preferred location is New Albany, OH, or Roanoke, VA. Will also consider Tulsa, OK.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & TASKS* Create, revise and maintain structural substation models, drawings, and sketches using Autodesk Inventor (primarily) and AutoCAD.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Education requirements are listed below: Associate degree in applied science (AAS) in drafting and computer aided design (CAD) or in civil, electrical or mechanical engineering technology and 4 years of equivalent experience. Equivalent experience without AAS degree - high school graduate and 8 years of experience in electric utility and/or related industrial drafting and/or computer aided drafting work. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:* Physical demand level is Sedentary
Note: Some noted requirements are mutually exclusive with regard to each specific discipline.* Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Must meet all vehicle operation requirements as designated by federal and/or state law. This position may require shift work or overtime. Occasional overnight travel to and work within a substation or power plant environment in obedience to all safety regulations and use of personal protection equipment.
