Position Summary
The Design Engineer is responsible for the research, development, and enhancement of new and existing products. This role ensures designs meet functional, quality, and manufacturability standards while aligning with company growth and profitability goals. The position involves 3D modeling, compliance testing, cost analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market.
Key Responsibilities
•Develop and refine product designs, components, fixtures, and tooling using CAD software.
•Create detailed models, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and implement new product designs.
•Track and report product development progress, feasibility, and return on investment to leadership.
•Conduct design evaluations, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and manufacturability standards.
•Assist in research and development initiatives, recommending design improvements.
•Support patent and copyright processes as needed.
•Work directly with customers to address product inquiries and troubleshoot issues in the field.
•Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
•Travel as needed (1–2 days per month) to support engineering projects.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Core Skills & Qualifications
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BS) or equivalent experience.
•Experience: 2–5 years in product design, development, or engineering.
•Software Proficiency: CREO preferred; SolidWorks or similar CAD software acceptable.
•Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, product development, and reliability testing.
•Communication: Ability to present technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
•Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
•Organization: Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
Physical Requirements
•Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, and stoop.
•Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
