SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some flexibility on hours)
The Database Administrator manages, implements and maintains the physical changes to databases, code and test SQL, data warehousing and various applications of the District. This position requires both technical and interface experience at all levels and supervises the Data Analyst position. Additionally, this position is responsible for ensuring the compliance and efficient operations of the District.

- Develops and manages logical and physical databases on various systems.
- Manages, maintains and supports multiple database applications.
- Performs Systems Analyses and designs and recommends database solutions to solve business problems.
- Evaluates and recommends database design and changes; and communicates the effect the changes have on the organization.
- Establishes physical database parameters.
- Conducts system tuning, performance monitoring and database maintenance.
- Codes database descriptions and specifies identifiers of database-to-database management systems.
- Manages users database access and type of data to be accessed by user.
- Develops and analyses business intelligence reports, and fulfills custom data mining requests for users.
- Tests, corrects errors, and refines changes to database.
- Designs and develops database maintenance, mining, and application software.
- Analyzes impact of database changes on other systems and staff costs for making changes to database.
- Modifies database programs to increase processing performance.
- Mines data and produces key performance indicator reports, such as work order/service call metrics, production/consumption/sales metrics, inventory management control, and personnel management reports.
- Mines data, performs analysis, and produces reports to support State and Federal Regulatory Compliance.
- Assists with application and user support when necessary.
- Ensures compliance with all company policies.
- Reviews and/or approves weekly timecards to ensure proper administration of pay and recordkeeping.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Project Management and technical staff supervision experience.

- Working knowledge of Database Design, Mining and Warehousing concepts and methods.
- Working knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) concepts and methods.
- Working knowledge of database Data Extraction, Translation, and Loading (ETL) concepts and methods.
- Working knowledge of software design, development, and programming.
- Working knowledge of networking concepts and techniques.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under limited supervision.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) preferred

- Proficiency in SAP Crystal Reports Designer and SAP Business Objects administration.
- Proficiency in SQL language scripting.
- Proficiency in Context Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), Logical Data Modeling, and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
This job primarily operates in a climate-controlled environment. Works with equipment such as computers, copy machine, phones and faxes. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach for objects. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures. There is no regular travel expected for this position.
