What is a Data Scientist?

As a Data Scientist at Central Hudson Gas & Electric—a regulated electric and gas utility serving New York’s Mid-Hudson River Valley—you will gain valuable, hands-on experience applying fundamental data science methods to inform key business decisions. What does a Data Scientist do?* Collects, cleans, and organizes data from various internal and external sources

What does it take to be a Data Scientist? Required:* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or relevant and experience working with data (internships or academic projects are acceptable)

Preferred:* Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or a relevant field

This position has a career path which allows for advancement opportunities within a job series. The title and level are commensurate with experience. Pay range: $71,900 – $168,700
