Ergon Inc.'s Business Optimization Department is seeking a full-time Data Governance Analyst to join our team. The Data Governance Analyst (DGA) is a detail-oriented and analytical individual who will play a crucial role in modeling business processes, cleansing and documenting data, analyzing data flows, and understanding the fundamental aspects of data storage and relationship models.
Education And Experience Requirements
•
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
•
Proven experience as a Data Governance Analyst or in a similar role.
•
Experience in an industry where key components include plant maintenance, equipment maintenance, and transportation.
•
Strong understanding of data management principles and methodologies.
•
Proficient in data modeling and data analysis.
•
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
•
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
•
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•
Passion for data.
•
Takes initiative.
Preferred Skills
•
Experience with data governance tools and software.
•
Knowledge of data privacy and protection regulations.
•
Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging data governance and management trends.
•
Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a plus.
•
Experience with content management systems for unstructured data like OpenText is a plus.
Duties And Responsibilities
•
Model business processes and document data and data flows.
•
Understand and apply the basic fundamentals of data, including how it's created, stored, used, and maintained.
•
Conduct data cleanup activities and make informed decisions about what data to keep and what to discard.
•
Investigate and analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
•
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
•
Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures.
•
Monitor and report on data quality metrics.
•
Participate in data governance initiatives and projects.
•
Advanced skills in MS-Excel and preferably other analytics and data manipulation tools.
