Cyber Security Help Desk Intern Join our team at East River Electric Power Cooperative! Are you looking for an opportunity to tackle real world cyber security issues? We are offering an exciting and challenging experience for you! We are seeking a current student to assist our cyber security team in the development and implementation of appropriate mitigation strategies. This temporary position offers up to full-time hours Monday - Friday during the summer months and 15 to 20 hours during the school year with flexibility to work around your class schedule. What You'll Accomplish Help complete annual security audits and assessments. Assist with cyber security event investigation and mitigation. Provide technical assistance in troubleshooting network software and hardware problems. Assist in responding to help desk tickets related to IT and cyber security issues. Assist in the analysis, tuning, and optimization of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems to enhance threat detection, reduce false positives, and improve overall security visibility. Showcase Your Knowledge, Abilities, and Expertise. Do you have? Currently pursuing a degree in cyber security or closely-related program (3rd or 4th year student preferred) Ability to drive a vehicle and valid driver's license Basic understanding of cyber security concepts and practices Familiarity with help desk software and ticketing systems is a plus Excellent communication and interaction skills including speaking, listening, and customer service capabilities Availability to work onsite in Madison during normal business hours Position Details Hourly pay rate is $20 per hour, depending on qualifications Intern position with opportunity to gain on-the-job experience Desired start date is mid-June but will depend on candidate availability Our Cooperative Community At East River Electric Power Cooperative we're dedicated to providing reliable and affordable wholesale power to our members across 40,000 square miles of service area.
