The Customer Service Representative/Dispatch position is responsible for providing customer service, placing new phone orders, and changing existing orders for ready-mix customers.
- Answers the phones and places new orders
- Call customers as needed for dispatchers
- Responsible for total customer satisfaction
- Speak to our customers in a positive and friendly manner
- Answer customer’s questions on concrete products
- Learn to type tickets to Ensure timely delivery
- Learn to monitor jobs: determine if delivery rates are correct; if jobs can be started earlier, or where there are delays on PM jobs
- Inform shop of trucks with mechanical problems
- Inform maintenance of plant problems
- Assist Drivers in finding job sites
- Get assistance to Drivers in emergencies
- Inform Customer Representatives of problems on jobs that need their expertise and/or assistance
- Wash out Drivers as early as possible
- Learn to take orders for current day and/or future delivery as needed
- Learn to make moves or changes in orders for customers
- Other duties as required
- High school degree or equivalent
- Experience in the ready mix concrete industry and a strong understanding of concrete, ad mixtures, and aggregate
- 1-3 years of related experience using COMMAND data dispatch system
- Strong computer, phone, and customer service skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to work various hours including overtime
- Ability to maintain composure in all situations and not become defensive or irritated
- Knowledge of DFW and surrounding geographic area
