We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Customer Service / Purchasing Assistant to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supporting both customer service and purchasing functions by managing customer orders, coordinating with internal teams, and assisting in the procurement of materials and supplies. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, orders, and requests.
Accurately process and enter customer orders into the ERP/MRP system.
Provide timely updates to customers regarding order status, lead times, and product availability.
Collaborate with production, shipping, and quality teams to ensure on-time and accurate deliveries.
Address and resolve customer concerns in a professional and efficient manner.
Assist with issuing and tracking purchase orders to vendors and suppliers.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply for production demands.
Request and review supplier quotations, pricing, and lead times.
Communicate with suppliers to follow up on orders, expedite deliveries, and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and pricing databases.
Support invoice matching and resolve issues related to deliveries and purchase orders.
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service, purchasing, or administrative support (manufacturing environment strongly preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Customer-focused mindset with a strong sense of urgency.
Team player with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
Office-based position within a manufacturing facility, with occasional interaction on the shop floor.
Standard business hours; overtime may be required during peak periods.
