Overview
The Remodeling Crew Member is responsible for assisting with a variety of construction and remodeling tasks in both residential and commercial settings. This role requires hands-on work with tools and materials to help complete projects, from demolition to installation, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities
•Greet customers warmly and professionally and provide clear and frequent communication with clients.
•Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring all details are captured.
•Absorb and apply regular in-house training to help grow your skills in the remodeling industry.
•Maintain cleanliness, protection and organization of workstations, client job sites, work vehicles and workshop.
•Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies as needed.
•Promote upselling techniques to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
•Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during peak hours..
•Assist tradesmen and machine operators in construction projects.
•Erect and break up scaffolding, ramps etc. with attention to safety.
•Load / unload and carry materials at construction sites
•Use hands, tools and equipment to break old forms and structures
•Demolish construction sites by hand or heavy equipment
•Be willing to work on a myriad of different types of projects small and large, from deck builds, to kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, siding installation, door and window installation, cabinet installation, flooring and many other types of projects.
•Perform maintenance on tools and equipment daily
•Perform a wide variety of skilled work such as rough carpentry, finished carpentry, limited rough plumbing and electrical, install and finish drywall, some concrete work, painting, tile and flooring installation.
Requirements
•Strong math skills, including basic math.
•Driving with trailer experience preferred but not required.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
•A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to remodeling and sales techniques.
•One year of remodeling experience is preferred but not required.
•Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
•Be able to work flexible hours when needed. Sometimes hours fluctuate based on job location and project requirements.
•Very good knowledge of English (spoken and written)
•Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination
•High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required)
•Physical stamina to handle lifting, bending, and prolonged periods of standing.
•Be able to lift heavy materials up to 80lbs
•Work on ladders and scaffolding and in high locations above 6’.
•Be able to lift materials above your shoulders or head.
•Communicate clearly and respectfully when on job sites with co-workers and clients.
•Have a reliable means of transportation to and from the job site or to work shop
•Be able to work alone when needed with minimal oversight.
•Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
•Strong work ethic with a focus on reliability and punctuality.
•Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
Work Environment:
•Job sites are typically in residential homes, commercial buildings, or other remodeling locations.
•May require travel to different job sites within the local area. Most instances crew members will meet at work shop and travel in a work vehicle.
•Physical work environment that may involve exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
•Use of heavy equipment and machinery may be required on some projects.
Compensation:
•Hourly wage based on experience.
•Benefits package (health insurance, paid time off, etc.) may be available depending on employment terms.
