LCRA is seeking a Transmission Construction and Maintenance Crew Lead for our Heavy Maintenance Team in Marble Falls! At a lead level, you will be responsible for coordinating the activities of skilled craft personnel working in and around high voltage equipment in a power plant, substation, or transmission line environment. You will monitor day to day operations of personnel and assigned work area. - Provide on-site leadership for all crewmembers performing duties for Transmission construction and maintenance projects, in the absence of a supervisor
- Direct and provide technical support, relative to project installations, system priorities, and operating decisions during normal and emergency situations for both internal and external resources.
- Perform functional and calibration tests on equipment in assigned areas. Maintain logs, files and reports to document dates and nature of work performed and other information such as equipment type, location, technical manuals, schematics, test reports and maintenance records. Provide for the evaluation, purchase, repair and calibration of test equipment for areas of responsibility.
- Travel independently or with a small crew to various locations (substations, power plants, water systems, etc.) as scheduled with some weekends, holidays and non-standard hours
- Complete complex and detailed repairs, installation and maintenance of equipment in assigned area, which require extensive knowledge and experience. Perform final test, verify proper operation and release equipment for service
- Seven or more years of experience in electrical or mechanical equipment installation, maintenance or repair in a high-voltage environment or transmission line installation, maintenance or repair. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Class A Texas commercial driver’s license
- Journeyman Substation Electrician experience
- Completion of NLC program
- Knowlege of crew leadership/supervisor
- Ability to work in a team environment
