The Credit Analyst – Risk & Finance Support plays a key role in safeguarding the bank’s financial health by leading credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and reporting to the Credit Committee. The role also supports enterprise risk management by identifying and assessing emerging risks and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Additionally, the Analyst assists the Finance team with financial reporting, analysis, and internal controls, offering a well-rounded perspective across credit, risk, and finance.

- Receive and analyze loan requests, including borrower financials, collateral, and repayment capacity.
- Prepare underwriting packages with recommendations for approval/denial.
- Present analyses and recommendations to the Credit Committee.
- Monitor loan portfolio performance, including margin calls, delinquencies, and concentrations.
- Produce monthly/quarterly credit portfolio reports for the Credit Committee and senior management.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability in financial operations.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate identified risks.
- Support the development, review, and monitoring of risk management policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and effective risk mitigation.
- Prepare and present periodic risk reports and analytics to the Risk Management Committee and management.
- Assist Finance/Accounting in preparing financial and regulatory reports.
- Review financial reconciliations and internal controls from a risk/accuracy perspective.
- Provide input into financial forecasts and variance analyses where credit trends impact results.
- Assist in reviewing the accuracy and completeness of financial records, reconciliations, and reporting processes from a risk and control perspective.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to enhance financial reporting and forecasting processes.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure consistent credit and risk practices.
- Provide guidance on credit policy, underwriting standards, and compliance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and financial reporting.
- 3–5 years of credit analysis/underwriting within the banking industry.
- Certifications (preferred but not required): CPA, CFA, FRM, or similar.
- Knowledge of local banking regulations (OCIF, FDIC, Federal Reserve, or similar).
- Strong credit and financial analysis skills.
- Ability to prepare clear, persuasive reports for decision-makers.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and credit risk practices.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills, written and verbal. English is required.
