The Corrosion Technician/Pipeliner position is supporting Zenith’s West Coast Terminals in the Long Beach, California area. These facilities operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This role works in and around petroleum products and crude oil facilities executing Maintenance and Reliability activities, as well as provides field support to various other processes and departments.
Responsible for locating, marking, and documenting various pipelines owned or operated by Zenith Energy West Coast Terminals. The Corrosion Tech/Pipeliner will be responsible for locating and marking all Zenith utilities, will standby and witness all third-party line crossings, document such crossings, update/close out tickets, fill out and file all required paperwork, conduct rectifier readings, soil to air inspections, atmospheric inspections, pull & inspect corrosion coupons with MIC data management, perform annual surveys, manage CIS inspections, as well as updating site drawings.
The Corrosion Tech/Pipeliner must be a self-starter and be able to perform work with little supervision. The Corrosion Tech/Pipeliner will interact with all construction, maintenance and I&E crews regularly. When not doing locates, or monitoring third party excavations, the Corrosion Tech/Pipeliner will perform Right of Way (ROW) and corrosion inspections. The Corrosion Tech/Pipeliner will maintain assigned tools required to perform job duties. This position will be requested on call-outs for work associated with field operations and/or emergency response.
· Manages One-Call and ticket management systems equipment.
· Maintains line locating technical skills and competency.
· Pulling coupons and documenting SRB/APB bug bottles for Internal Corrosion.
· Perform annual pipe to soil inspections survey
· Ability to perform job walks with vendors/third parties
· Conforms with and abide by regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
· Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental oversight to ensure a safe and environmentally sound operation.
· Proficient in Cathodic Protection Data Management Program
· Able to perform rectifier inspection and maintenance
· NACE or AMPP Level 1 Certification, or applicable corrosion experience
· High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
· Strong communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to perform basic math.
· Must be able to successfully complete Haz-Mat training, safety awareness training and any related required training and certifications.
· Must have the ability to obtain a TWIC.
Pay range for the Pipeliner/Corrosion Tech position is $30-42 per hour. The actual pay rate will be determined on the candidate’s relevant experience and/or education.
