ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are seeking a professional, results-driven individual to join our team as a Corporate Retail Area Supervisor. This role will provide overall supervision of Jeremy’s Restaurant and Circle K Esso Cardlock Fueling Station located in Nairn Centre, ON. Additionally, the role will also lead a team of managers across three other locations along the North Shore (Elliot Lake, Blind River, Little Current). The successful candidate will be responsible for driving performance, growing sales, and fostering a high-performance culture across the region.
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Retail, this position is responsible for:
•Supporting Retail Managers for increasing territory fuel volumes of the company owned retail gas and convenience store business.
•Increasing the convenience store and car was sales for corporate owned sites within the area.
•Working with management and Retail Site Managers to develop and implement sales strategies to drive sales and achieve agreed upon targets for your area.
•Supporting site managers with day-to-day site level operational issues.
•Coaching teams towards the goal of exceptional customer service.
•Ensuring that the Monthly Health & Safety Meetings are completed and follow up on any outstanding Health and Safety issues within their sites.
•Taking all training available to ensure that you are current with the approach to market developed and promoted by McDougall Energy and Esso.
•Conducting monthly and quarterly site inspections to ensure sites are operating safely.
•Reviewing their area OPEX reports and follow up on any discrepancies.
•Providing monthly scorecards and inspection reports to operations manager.
•Make recommendations to help grow their store sales by recommending new or existing site offerings, processes, or capital improvements.
•Completing a monthly REX report and submit their report to the Retail Operations Manager for review.
•Ensuring that all Esso and Shell marketing programs, (signage, specials, promotions) are in accordance and implemented throughout the sites in their area.
•Reviewing Site Experience & Mystery Shop results with Retail site Managers and close and submit curable items in a timely manner to the Operations Manager when required.
•Being present for C-Store inventory full counts, unless other business or emergencies take priority, and must ensure that the site results are within the President’s target of 0.50% Shrink.
•Ensuring all fuel and inventory management processes and procedures are being followed and timelines met. They must also ensure that all training and signoffs are completed.
•Conducting performance appraisals with site managers annually.
ABOUT YOU:
The ideal candidate will have:
•Five to ten years progressive retail management experience.
•College diploma or degree in business or related field an asset.
•Proven ability to multitask and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
•Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to actively listen and engage effectively with others.
•Adaptable to change and to ability to make tough decisions when required.
•Strong leadership skills including ability to assess current and potential performance; mentor coach, develop, engage and retain top talent.
•Strong numerical skills and computer proficiency, including working knowledge of MS Office
