Marathon Petroleum Company LP (MPC) is seeking an HES Professional to provide safety support to its Refining Organization. This position will require up to 40% travel and requires 40-45% of in-office days to be located in Findlay, OH.
The successful candidate will coordinate safety processes and programs within the MPC Refining Organization. This role assists the MPC refineries in the development of innovative processes to reduce risk and injuries, the collection and analysis of data, and staffing support during major projects. The successful candidate will help develop, interpret, and implement policies, procedures, strategies, and tactics that relate to safety and compliance across all MPC Refineries.
The preference is for this role to be located in the Findlay, OH Headquarters, however other Refining locations may be considered.
The following roles and responsibilities are expected of the successful candidate:
- Coordinate refining safety and health programs.
- Participate in corporate/refining safety and health committees and workgroups.
- Review, update and maintain applicable RSP’s to reflect best practices and lessons learned.
- Provide support and direction for key refining safety and health initiatives.
- Coordinate with outside vendors/consultants/contractors regarding refining-wide initiatives.
- Compile, assess and report on refining safety metrics and KPI’s.
- Provide staffing support to refineries during major projects and turnarounds.
- Participate in refining emergency responses.
- Participate in regular teleconferences with the refinery ES&S leadership.
- Make recommendations and manage year-over-year budget for program improvements.
- High school diploma or GED required with 6 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience required. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
- Experience coordinating programs across multiple groups/organizations required.
- Refining Occupational Safety and Health experience preferred.
- Professional certifications preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft, webpage, and database applications preferred.
