This initiative is crucial for minimizing downtime, boosting efficiency, and maintaining our competitive edge. We're seeking dedicated professionals to join our Reliability Program Coordination Team and help us drive significant improvements in asset reliability.
This position is responsible for directing the implementation of the Asset Reliability Management Program (ARMP) strategies at all Universal facilities to maintain steel producing equipment and facilities, minimizing downtime, and ensuring operational efficiency.
The Corporate Preventative Maintenance Engineer will report to the Corporate Engineer.
- Drive equipment reliability initiatives to include Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tracking, autonomous maintenance, RCA, preventative maintenance, and outage scheduling.
- Manage 3 Preventative Maintenance Engineers to deploy the Asset Reliability Management Program strategies.
- Maintain maintenance-focused KPIs for the department.
- Manage special initiative projects under the direction of the Corporate Engineer.
- Ensure that preventative maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- Create, distribute, and update guidance documents for preventative maintenance practices
- Travel to all 4 Universal sites is required to become knowledgeable in the performance of preventative maintenance activities and develop best practices.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics
- Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues.

- Experience: Prior experience in a maintenance or engineering role with specific steel industry experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical Engineer, or any equivalent title.
- 5+ years experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing – steel making experience preferred.- Reliability centered maintenance experience is required.
- Knowledge of IBM Maximo EAM platform is a strong plus.
