ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:
McDougall Energy is seeking an experienced, driven, and engaging communications professional to join our Marketing & Communications team for an 18-Month contract. Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective internal and external communication initiatives for McDougall Energy Inc.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
•Collaborating to develop, coordinate, and execute internal and external communications for McDougall Energy’s brands and business lines. This includes media releases, employee communications, social media posts, customer updates, and acquisitions-related documentation and communications.
•Design and implement a comprehensive organizational communications plan that encompasses public relations, social media engagement, crisis communications, and employee communications.
•Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and deliver employee communications on behalf of the company, including the President’s Office communications, newsletters, Intranet content, internal news, and announcements.
•Providing guidance and communications support to senior leadership on public relations and communication matters for internal and external audiences.
•Developing and managing media relations, including engaging with media representatives, monitoring coverage, and crafting strategies to enhance visibility.
•Promoting and establishing a strong brand presence that engages with communities and raises awareness through community investment and positive news stories.
•Manage content development and management across digital platforms with Brand Managers and Marketing & Communication Coordinators to ensure consistent and compelling messaging.
•Interfacing with external parties such as agency representatives, vendors, print suppliers, to brief, proof, coordinate, program, and produce communication materials.
•Supporting the design and implementation of all internal/external communication plans and programs to continuously enhance our offer and grow our business within Residential, Commercial, Corporate Retail and Retail Fuel markets.
•Assisting with marketing initiatives that include content development, corporate branding, campaigns, promotions, market research and communications.
•Leading communications initiatives for the company’s mergers and acquisitions activities.
ABOUT YOU:
•Minimum of 5 years of progressive communications and/or marketing experience
•A post-secondary university degree or diploma in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Business or a related field
•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
•Advanced Word and PowerPoint skills
•Ability to work independently and learn in a fast-paced environment
•Strong knowledge of current media, including social media (e.g. LinkedIn)
•Superior attention to detail and accuracy
•Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing innovative strategies to drive growth
•Understanding of content management and social media usage
•Superior organizational, project management and time management skills to meet aggressive deadlines
•Pro-active team player with a positive attitude and absolute commitment to customer service
•Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
