Your Next Challenge
Reporting to the General Supervisor, E&I Electrical Maintenance, you will be part of the Energy and Infrastructure Department and closely collaborate with other Surface and Underground departments. You will be a key member of the team and work closely with the supervisor by actively supporting and implementing best supervision and planning practices. You will ensure that goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct, and the environment.
You will be responsible for coordinating underground electrical and instrumentation work related to maintenance, construction and development with the other departments of the mine such as Geology, Engineering, IT/OT, Automine and Mine Operations.
•Coordinate and planned the electrical and instrumentation work according to weekly Mine priorities
•Actively work on mid and long-term priorities such as; LOM planning and parts ordering
•Plan, prepare and coordinate electrical, instrumentation and programing work related to Electrical Shutdowns
•Conduct field visits, ensuring proper work evaluation and preparation
•Work in close proximity with planners, engineers, geologists and reliability specialists in identifying optimization opportunities and initiate improvement
•Actively participate in implementing asset management and maintenance strategies
•Supervise and support external contractors in special projects execution
•Develop and support the team through coaching and training
•Work according to AEM engineering standards
•Ensure that policies and procedures are in accordance with the Nunavut Mine Act and applied
•Ensure the application and the evolution of the supervision formula
•Fill in for the Electrical General Supervisor as required
What You Need To Succeed
•Electrical Engineer, College Diploma or extended experience in the Electrical field
•10 + years of experience in the Underground Mining Electrical field
•Solid understanding of the Underground Mining Operation and Developpment cycle
•Strong leadership and coaching abilities with interpersonal and teamwork skills
•Experience in supervision is an asset
•Red Seal or Journeyman Certificate is and asset
•Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
•Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
•Experience working in a multicultural environment
•Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications
•Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing mark on an English language assessment
Your Work Schedule
•Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
