Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and ensure the integrity of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to implement effective financial strategies. This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and providing insightful financial analysis to support business decisions.
Duties
•Manage all aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
•Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
•Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management review.
•Oversee budgeting processes, including preparation, analysis, and monitoring of departmental budgets.
•Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions as necessary.
•Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage for efficient financial management and reporting.
•Lead the financial forecasting process, providing insights into revenue trends and expense management.
•Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
•Provide mentorship and training to accounting staff to enhance their skills and performance.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred.
•Proven experience in a Controller or similar role within a corporate environment.
•Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles and practices.
•Proficiency in financial software applications; experience with QuickBooks or Sage is highly desirable.
•Excellent analytical skills with a focus on financial analysis and reporting.
•Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
•Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
