Controller

As our Controller, you will play a pivotal role in leading the financial strategy and day-to-day operations of the Finance department, supporting sustainable growth, and ensuring regulatory compliance and financial transparency across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership & Reporting:
•Lead and manage all day-to-day accounting and finance functions, ensuring completeness and accuracy in financial reporting.
•Oversee the preparation and distribution of monthly and quarterly financial statements with analysis and executive commentary.
•Present quarterly financial performance updates to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
•Supervise year-end financial closing and manage external audits, including CRA and HST reviews.
•Manage banking relationships and ensure compliance with financial covenants and reporting requirements.
Budgeting & Financial Planning:
•Lead the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, including P&L and cash flow projections.
•Identify risks and opportunities to improve financial performance.
•Collaborate with product managers and senior leadership to align financial planning with operational goals.
•Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive accountability across departments.
•Champion cost optimization initiatives and operational spend analysis.
Team Management & Development:
•Directly supervise three finance team members and provide leadership to an extended team of nine, including accounting, AP, AR, and administrative staff.
•Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings and formal performance reviews to drive continuous development and goal achievement.
•Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the Finance team.
Operational Excellence & System Management:
•Establish and maintain internal financial controls, ensuring best practices in all accounting processes, including AP, AR, invoicing, and inventory.
•Oversee ERP system management and enhancements to improve operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.
•Act as the Finance department lead in future system implementations or upgrades.
Compliance & Risk Management:
•Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.
•Serve as a partner to the CIO in promoting and implementing cybersecurity best practices across financial systems.
•Ensure timely payment of taxes and statutory obligations.
•Support credit release decisions and hold regular reviews with the Credit team and CFO.
Treasury & Cash Flow Management:
•Manage cash flow forecasting and reporting, including dashboards for senior management.
•Perform foreign exchange transactions and manage bank access and authorizations.
•Execute payments (wires, ACH, tax payments) and maintain secure banking practices.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
•CPA designation is required.
•10+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
•Previous experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
•Proven track record managing audits, budgeting, forecasting, and ERP system improvements.
Skills & Abilities:
•Strong leadership and team development skills.
•Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling capabilities.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
•Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Experience working with external stakeholders such as auditors, banks, and tax authorities.
Compensation & Benefits:
•Salary range: $120,000 – $150,000 based on experience.
•Profit sharing incentives that can add up to 30% of base salary.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break. This position is 100% onsite.
