Position Overview and Purpose
The Alarm Technician will be responsible for continuously monitoring incoming data from Baselines fleet of natural gas generators. This position will ensure that all data is properly routed to Operations team members spread throughout Baselines multiple regions of operation. Furthermore, the Alarm Technician will act as an internal service representative to effectively relay information and answer questions from various departments related to equipment alarms. By ensuring data integrity and managing telemetry parameters this position will help Baseline achieve its standard of industry-leading power generation analytics for internal and external use.
Responsibilities
•Monitor Baselines telemetry systems across all operating regions to verify operational integrity and detect variances in equipment operation
•Act as an internal customer service representative to effectively relay information to and from Operations personnel
•Ensure equipment alerts are functioning properly at all times. Work with Operations Department to verify alerts are received by needed personnel to respond to equipment issues immediately
•Produce equipment run-time reports for Baseline team members and customers. These reports will be created on regular schedules and ad-hoc depending on needs of the business and customers
•Troubleshoot and resolve telemetry issues with the Operations and Sales Departments as they arise. This can include but will not be limited to timeliness of submissions, timely alerts, verifying data integrity, setting up equipment parameters, etc.
•Process, verify, correct, and enter data into Baselines automation systems flowing from the Operations and Sales teams as needed
•Identify, propose, and implement new processes or changes to existing procedures for improved data reliability and efficiencies as Baselines automation and telemetry system evolves
•Collaborate frequently with the Automation Manager, Operations, and Sales Departments to ensure data is accurate and useful
•Perform other duties related to remote monitoring and data acquisition as required to meet the needs of the business
Qualifications
•3+ years of relevant remote customer service experience required
Experience in a control-room* setting responding to equipment alerts and data preferred
•Ideal candidate would have experience in oil and gas equipment rental or general equipment rental industries
•Knowledge and familiarity with mechanical and electrical equipment in oil and gas, mining, or related heavy machinery industry a plus
•Proven ability to handle, manage, and organize high volumes of data on a daily basis
•Demonstrated ability to learn and become a resident expert in new software systems quickly
•College degree a plus but not required (open to various degrees)
•Ability to work across multiple departments in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment
