Job Overview

Reporting to the Control Center Lead, the Control Center Operator will have the responsibility of safely and efficiently monitoring and controlling complex pipeline and terminal oil and NGL systems utilizing a SCADA system and other tools. They will collaborate closely with the CCO Lead, the Cromer Senior Technical Analyst, CCO staff, Crude Quality Marketing, and other groups within the company to achieve operational goals.

Position Responsibilities

•

Actively support workplace safety and participate in company safety programs.

•

Utilize SCADA, leak detection systems, and other tools to control and monitor our pipeline and terminal assets.

•

Follow normal, abnormal, emergency operating procedures and best operating practices.

•

Assist Leak Detection Analyst with investigating leak alarms, leak triggers, and imbalances.

•

Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot abnormal and emergency operating conditions and take appropriate action.

•

Create Azzier work orders for equipment and system issues; contact appropriate personnel to resolve issues.

•

Complete documentation and shift change logs accurately and thoroughly.

•

Monitor and track daily delivery and receipt schedules to meet overall monthly nomination plans.

•

Collaborate and communicate with shipper services, other Control Center staff, field operations, technical services, and external entities.

•

Identify, communicate, and contribute to Continuous Improvement program.

•

Perform commissioning activities as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

•

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma is considered an asset.

•

2+ years of Oil & Gas experience; previous control room experience is considered an asset.

•

Ability to work independently on 12-hour shifts with a rotating schedule between days and nights.

•

Proven mathematical ability to calculate known formulas for pipeline operations.

•

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.

•

Experience creating, improving, and executing detailed procedures and processes.

•

Proven experience analyzing, troubleshooting and problem solving.

•

Exceptional written and oral communications skills.

•

Knowledge of operating codes and standards, regulations, and Industry practices is considered an asset.

•

Collaborative working style.

•

Ability to prioritize multiple issues and make complex decisions under pressure.

•

Intermediate skills with MS-Office products; previous experience with coding, database systems, PI Datalink, Power Bi, SQL is an asset.
