Joseph J. Albanese, Inc. is seeking a Contracts Manager to join our Contracts team. The Contracts Manager will work within the Legal Department to provide essential support to ensure efficient Contract Lifecycle Management. This role involves a mix of administrative tasks, coordination, and communication to maintain smooth functioning within the various departments which participate in the bidding process, contract intake, review, and negotiation, as well as detailed contract document review and analysis during both the pre-bid and pre-execution review. Essential Duties & Responsibilities•Review, summarize, revise, negotiate, draft, and prepare for execution contracts with clients, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants for various construction projects, ensuring that they meet the project requirements and objectives.
•Ensure that all contracts are compliant with legal, regulatory, and industry standards and policies, and that they align with the project scope, budget, and schedule.
•Monitor the performance and delivery of contracts, identify and resolve any issues, and implement changes and variations as needed, in accordance with contract terms and conditions as well as JJA’s business interests.
•Maintain and update contract records, databases, and documentation, and prepare reports and analysis on contract activities and outcomes.
•Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders, such as Estimators, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Subcontracts Coordinators, clients, and subcontractors, to facilitate contract processes and achieve contract objectives.
•Provide guidance and support to contract staff and other relevant personnel on contract matters and ensure that they are trained and informed on contract policies and procedures.
•Research and evaluate contract trends and best practices in the construction industry and recommend and implement improvements and innovations to enhance contract efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications•Bachelor's degree in construction management, contract management, business, engineering, pre-law, or a related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
•3-5 years of experience in contract management, negotiation, drafting, and administration, with a strong preference for work in the construction industry
•Legal and/or contract interpretation training, education, and/or experience is preferred.
•Strong knowledge of construction contract law, terms and conditions, and contract management principles and practices, and familiarity with construction methods, materials, and standards.
•Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
•High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and other relevant software and systems, such as contract management software and project management software (e.g. Salesforce, Vista, Build, DocuSign).
•Certification in contract management, such as CPCM, CCCM, or CCM, or in construction management, such as CCM, PMP, or PMI-SP, is an asset.
•Organizational Skills: Ability to manage tasks efficiently.
•Willingness to work closely with team members and other departments.
