Tidewater Midstream and Infrastructure Ltd. is a publicly listed, diversified energy infrastructure company with an integrated value chain across the North American natural gas, natural gas liquids and crude oil, refined product, and renewable space. Tidewater has an immediate opening for a Contract Operator. This is a full-time contract position based out of the Grand Prairie, Alberta - Valhalla Field and Battery facility, this position will be expected to work 10-hour shifts 8on/6off. The Production Operator Level 2 will be responsible for the safe and competent operation of the facilities and wells assigned. Responsible for EH&S, production, and operations. While maintaining a positive attitude he/she will also safely and effectively carry out his/her duties, recognizing his/her objective is to keep the best interests of the company.
· Abide by the terms of employment in the EH&S “Policy Manuals”; to ensure safety and environmental standards are adhered to, and regulatory requirements are met.
· Constantly strive to make the company more profitable by:
o Developing and proposing innovative plans on how to improve efficiency of production operations
· Take all appropriate measures to prevent harm to people, wells, equipment, environment, and property
· Routine inspection and adjustment of assigned facilities and wells by:
o Estimate daily volumes to sales (from gas measurement devices)
· Record production levels from the facilities and wells on a daily run sheet and forward to the appropriate production accounting clerk for entry into the production accounting software
· Accurate test measurement of gas, condensate/oil and water production on a daily basis for all assigned wells including:
o Fluid sample collection and water cut determination
o Calculate tested well gas, condensate/oil and water production
o Read and record tubing, annulus and separator pressures
o Record daily well information on the run sheet
· Arrange or perform regular preventative maintenance of all equipment including
· In the event of a production interruption, adjust the flow of appropriate wells (as agreed by the Area Foreman)
· Inform/instruct affected third parties of the production interruption
· After the production interruption, return wells to maximum allowable rates in a timely manner
· Notify the marketing department and Pipeline Company of the results of the production interruption
· Perform routine maintenance/adjustments to all facilities as required (including but not limited to :)
o Schedule/supervise routine minor well maintenance with contract equipment as directed
o Monitor chemical inventories and ensure adequate well chemical treatment
o Monitor and adjust line heaters for optimum performance
o Routine de-waxing of pipelines with mechanical pigs
o Pressure test bottom hole pumps and wellheads, check settings of wellhead high-pressure shut downs and record in the appropriate place
o Make daily verbal reports to Area Foreman including operational status and problems
o Clean and maintain the vehicle, tools and equipment
o Identify hazards and take appropriate actions to remove the hazard
o Start all wells after workover or pump change
· Perform any other related duties as assigned by Area Foreman or Superintendent
· Use a variety of computer-based programs effectively and strive to learn as programs evolve (including but not limited to :)
o All Microsoft based platform (excel, outlook, teams, word)
· Reliable individual with good attention to detail.
· Able to work long hours if required
· Understand and comply to EHS policies and procedures
· Identify opportunities to improve production and reliability
· Highly organized with the ability to manage a demanding workload on a fast-paced environment
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
· Self starter who can work independently without supervision
· Good communication and decision making along with problem solving skills that are proven
· CMDS profile would also be consider an asset
· Minimal ticket requirements, TDG, WHMIS, H2S, First aid
