Position Summary:
The Construction Quality Control (QC) Inspector ensures that all construction activities, completed and in-progress work and materials meet project specifications, company quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This role combines responsibilities of performing on-site inspections and quality control, as well as surveying and documenting as-built conditions. The candidate will utilize survey equipment to capture elevations and locations, then reflect this data in as-built plans. Additionally, the role involves logging crew compositions and monitoring production rates to support project coordination and efficiency. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with knowledge of construction processes, surveying techniques, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and accuracy on every job site.
- Visit construction sites to verify work quality and safety compliance
- Identify mistakes, problems, or non-conforming work or materials
- Take notes and photos of inspections, and document issues
- Coordinate with project teams to resolve quality and construction problems
- Use survey equipment to shoot elevations and locations for as-built documentation
- Process survey data and update as-built plans accordingly
- Ensure that as-built drawings accurately reflect the completed work and survey data
- Log crew compositions, monitor workforce attendance, and record daily production rates
- Support project scheduling and resource planning by tracking crew and productivity data
- Monitor that the project adheres to plans, codes, and safety regulations
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in construction supervision, inspection, QC, survey-related roles, or production logging- Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, survey techniques, and production tracking
- Working knowledge of CAD, Civil 3D or similar digital drafting software
- Experience with using survey equipment to collect elevations and locations is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail in inspection, surveying, and crew documentation
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
- Proficiency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, inspection and survey software)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to, from and in between various job sites
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Surveying, or related field
- Experience with using survey equipment to collect elevations and locations
- Experience in producing as-built drawings and managing survey data
- Experience in crew and production logging, with familiarity with related software
- Safety certifications such as OSHA 10 or 30 are a plus
