OLINE Construction is looking for an experienced Project Manager 2 to oversee and manage our construction projects in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This position is instrumental to our company’s continued success.
A Project Manager 2 is responsible for understanding the project deliverables and creating timelines for different individuals and groups involved in the project to make sure the project remains on track. They must be familiar with the goals of the project and the responsibilities of all involved parties.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Project Planning and Initiation:
•Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
•Develop project plans, including work breakdown and structure, schedules, and resource allocation.
•Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
•Obtain necessary approvals and support for project initiation.
Project Execution and Control:
•Manage the day-to-day activities of construction projects, ensuring adherence to the project plans and schedules.
•Monitor project progress, track milestones, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
•Coordinate and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to ensure efficient project execution.
•Manage project budgets and expenses, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial guidelines.
•Resolve project issues, conflicts, and changes by applying effective problem-solving and decision making.
•/Implement project management best practices and methodologies to improve project outcome.
•Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards and quality requirements.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
•Lead and manage cross-functional project teams, including engineers, designers, technicians, and subcontractors.
•Set clear expectations, provide guidance, and mentor team members to ensure project success.
•Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
•Facilitate meetings, discussions, and reviews to drive project progress and resolve any challenges.
•Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal departments, to ensure alignment and timely project delivery.
Risk Management and Quality Assurance:
•Identify project risks and develop risk management strategies to minimize their impact.
•Conduct regular project risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
•Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
•Perform project reviews and quality control measures to verify compliance with specifications and customer requirements.
Project Documentation and Reporting:
•Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, reports, and technical specifications.
•Prepare project progress reports, highlighting key milestones, issues, and risks.
•Communicate project status, progress, and results to stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications:
•5-9 years of experience in a Project Management or Similar Role
•Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or similar degree.
•In-depth knowledge of construction and engineering principles, practices, and project management methodologies.
•Strong Leadership and team management skills.
•Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
•Proficient in project management software tools.
•Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet project deadlines.
•Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making skills.
•Excellence in building rapport and creating a team environment where all those with project responsibilities work well together
•Ability to maintain a high level of organization by ensuring daily job allocation
•Excellence in planning how each process should be done, how resources are to be acquired, and when the project should be completed
•Ability to determine potential risks while devising proactive ways to solve them
•Excellence in the budgeting of financial resources
Safety:
•Comply with all safety policies, report suspected safety concerns, make recommendations for enhancements to the safety program, and visibly support and uphold the company’s safety culture.
•Ensure all construction activities are conducted in a safe, clean and orderly working environment and ensure job site compliance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), including addressing job site issues and documentation of any IIPP events in adherence with the Company’s IIPP manual.
•Conduct weekly safety audits of the worksite and ensure that discrepant items are immediately corrected; maintain documentation of both audits and corrections made.
•Conduct and document Safe Start meetings with each subcontractor’s Project Manager and/or Foreman, regular safety orientations for new subcontractor workers, weekly safety/coordination meetings with subcontractors’ foreman, and weekly “All Hands” meetings.
•Ensure all safety documentation (Safety Program, Site Specific Safety Plan, Site Specific MSDSs, JHAs, Designated Safety Person, First Aid/CPR Certifications, etc.) is submitted before allowing a subcontractor to start work.
•In coordination with the Safety Manager, manage OSHA site visits.
•Remain current in all company required safety training and certifications.
•Acknowledge and celebrate safe behaviors and actions of others.
Physical Requirements:
•Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach.
•Occasionally required to crawl.
•Frequent lifts of 10 lbs- 25lbs, and occasionally requiring lifts of 50 lbs.
•Extensive reading of documents and computer. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
•Willingness and ability to work extended hours and flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.
•Willingness and ability to travel frequently and for extended periods.
Work Environment:
•The majority of a Project Manager’s duties with Oline Construction consist of office and non-manual work in the field; however, working in an office is at times required.
•Will be exposed to outside weather elements while in the field.
•May be exposed to loud noises, fumes, and/or airborne particles while in the field.
Dress, including proper PPE, is conducive to a building construction environment.
