Planning, coordinating, and overseeing electrical construction activities related to water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This includes the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems within treatment plants, pumping stations, and other related facilities. The role combines technical expertise, project management responsibilities, and cost estimation to ensure successful project delivery in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Preparation of technical reports, project updates, and compliance documentation.
- Ensuring electrical components and systems meet the technical specifications, safety standards, and electrical code.
- Coordinating contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Maintaining accurate project files, drawings, and records of all electrical work performed.
- Tracking project progress and report on key milestones, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, vendors, engineers, and regulatory bodies.
- Preparing initial project estimates by evaluating project scope, specifications, and drawings.
- Performing cost analysis for electrical components, materials, labor, and equipment required for each phase of the project.
- Working closely with the project team and subcontractors to obtain accurate material and labor cost estimates.
- Creating detailed budgets and timelines, tracking costs during project execution to ensure adherence to the initial budget.
- Monitoring and reporting on any potential cost overruns and collaborate to find solutions to stay within budget.
- Helping identify and evaluate opportunities for cost-saving measures during the project lifecycle.
- Promoting a culture of safety and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations during electrical installations and operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field are a plus
- Professional certifications in project management are a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience in electrical construction, ideally within the water/wastewater, utilities, or industrial sectors.
- Experience with cost estimation and budgeting for electrical projects is a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, NFPA), standards, and regulations applicable to water/wastewater operations.
- Familiarity of electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and automation with a willingness to become a subject matter expert.
- Knowledge of project management (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), CAD, and estimating software a plus but not required
- Strong skills in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial tracking for electrical projects. Accubid experience a plus.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to work in both office and field environments, with frequent visits to job sites.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, or in outdoor environments, as required by project needs.
- This role will require frequent travel to project sites, including remote locations.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular office hours during project deadlines or emergency situations may be required.
