The Construction Manager position requires a strong background in construction oversight including work execution, resource management, and client and community relations. The position will focus on managing utility pole reinforcement work to ensure contractors are meeting project design standards/regulatory requirements, working safely, and meeting schedule productively
- Prepare job packages and construction estimates for client/owner
- Perform scoping and design site walks with cross-functional teams to provide constructability reviews
- Review and provide input into project bid documents to ensure scope and constraint clarity
- Oversee construction contractor operations to support safety, schedule adherence and design standards
- Forecast, manage and mitigate construction risks
- Report construction progress and safety updates to client/owner
- Review field conditions for operational changes and collaboratively negotiate change orders with contractor
- Ensure as-built drawings and field documentation items are submitted by contractors
- This is an office and field-based position with project travel as needed throughout northern California
- Experience with managing construction work, utility construction experience preferred
- Possess strong communication skills
- Willingness to travel
- Ability to build strong relationships with coworkers, clients, and contractors.
- Excels at organization, time-management, problem-solving, and budgeting.
- Proficient use and knowledge of computers and software applications.
