Reporting to the Mine Captain, you will be part of the Mine Construction Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Conduct informal and formal inspections with coaching for improvement;
- Complete reports on findings and promptly & appropriately follow up on safety concerns;
- Inform and receive information from and to crew and technical services about longhole priorities;
- Inform the Mine Captain about issues as needed, including preparing required reports;
- Plan and organize all longhole/services requirements on the given shift in a proactive manner;
- Provide professional and technical support and expertise to all mine and plant projects as required;
- Complete Longhole QA/QC daily;
- Process departmental documentation such as completing timesheets, tracking vacation and banked time;
- Exercising on site cost control by ensuring that all non- drilling operations are performed as efficiently as possible;
- Study drilling conditions and assist drillers in drilling techniques, care and maintenance of equipment, safe work methods and general job reconstruction;
- Supervise all non-drilling operations;
- Awareness and consistency with the Agnico Eagle Mining Classification Guideline;
- Recommend input to annual budget setting and anticipate costs in accord to annual production/development on a monthly basis;
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience;
- 5 years’ of related experience in underground mining;
- Competency with the Ontario Mining Act and Regulations;
- Supervisors Common Core;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
