IRD homes is currently looking to hire an experienced Construction Lead Carpenter/Foreman. We manage and build many different types of projects such as, new residential homes, remodels, additions, barns, and decks.
Ideal employee would be someone who will construct, install and repair a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial structures and fixtures, indoors and outdoors. Study specifications on projects using blueprints, building plans, or sketches to a create a layout of the project and visualize the design and materials they need. Must demonstrate required knowledge in carpentry and leadership qualities and be willing to work in the field as needed. You will lead and manage others. You will be fully responsible for your duties and responsibilities. You have knowledge of the carpentry trade from demo to trim.

Construction Lead Carpenter/Foreman Job Duties & Responsibilities:
•Examine blueprints, sketches, or building plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions and materials required.
•Must have the knowledge and skill set in all aspects of Carpentry (laminate, cabinet installation, frame, doors, hardware, trim work, framing, rough carpentry, block, and nailer).
•Ability to run personnel and understand sequence to meet work schedule using knowledge of equipment and assigned personnel. Perform those duties as assigned.
•Assist Project Manager in assembling look ahead schedules.
•Direct employees to ensure quality work is being performed in timely manner.
•Ability to track material inventory and maintain required records/documentation.
•Ability to make recommendations on materials, parts, and equipment.
•Must be able to check work for accuracy and answer technical questions regarding craft operations.
•Must have willingness to work with hands and teach other personnel the carpentry trade.
•Clean work area, machines, or equipment to maintain a clean and safe job site.

Construction Lead Carpenter/Foreman Candidate Requirements:
•High School Diploma/GED. (preferred)
•State of Michigan Residential Builders License. (preferred)
•Valid Driver's License (required)
•At least 5 years of relevant construction experience from demo to trim.
•Strong knowledge of carpentry in commercial and/or industrial construction.
•Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions and work environments. Environments include but not limited to the following: high/low temperatures, loud and frequent noises, confined spaces, height, indoor/outdoor settings.
•Ability to climb, kneel, bend and crawl often and ability to work on ladders, platforms, and mechanical lifts.
•Ability to work extended hours including overtime and weekends as needed.
•Ability to lift upwards of 50 pounds and bend, lift, and stand for extended periods of time.
