The Construction Equipment Operator drives, maneuvers, and controls the heavy machinery used to assist with the construction of structures.
Construction Equipment Operator Responsibilities:
•Ensure all equipment is maintained and used in accordance with company health and safety regulations.
•Clean, lubricate, and perform regular safety checks on equipment.
•Ensure equipment is properly positioned before turning it on and off or loading and unloading it.
•Train new crew members in the safe operation of equipment.
•Perform other construction duties as needed.
•Observe the safe distribution of construction materials.
•Promptly report all faults to the Construction Supervisor or Foreman.
•Ensure sites are kept safe and clean.
•Attend meetings and refresher courses to ensure responsible equipment operation.
•Identify faults and troubleshoot equipment as required.
•Assist the Warehouse Team on an as needed basis.
Warehouse/Yard/Truck Driver Responsibilities:
•Facilitate getting tools and equipment to job sites upon request, follow up on lost tools. Monitor condition of tools and note in the system.
•Plowing (this may require off-hours work).
•Roll the parking lots once a week with a magnet.
•Help to clean, organize, and maintain two "Receiving" bays with bay floors to always be as clear as possible.
•Dispose of roofing tar, contact cement, oil-based paints, and all hazardous building materials legally.
•Empty all office trashes daily.
•Maintain and clean snowplow(s) and gas grille.
•Maintain and organize yard, parking areas, signs, receiving areas, dumpster, fences, racks, ladders, and tarps.
•Receive and assist in unloading deliveries, checking in orders, and distributing to project managers, jobsites, or store in the warehouse.
•Keep list of job surplus items in warehouse and yard that can be utilized or taken (i.e. insulation, extra windows/doors, appliances, flooring).
Requirements:
•Required Licenses: Valid Driver’s License, CDL – Class B, 2A Hoisting Engineer License, OSHA-10 Certification
•Preferred License: CDL – Class A
•Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills
•Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities
•Ability to follow instructions accurately, particularly under pressure
•Prior experience operating heavy equipment
•Basic mathematical proficiency
•Demonstrated technical aptitude and capacity to learn
•Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in task execution
•Dependable, adaptable, and able to problem-solve in dynamic environments
•Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices
Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 80 pounds.
•Physically fit and able to perform various tasks that include standing, climbing, lifting, walking, reaching, crawling, etc.
