POSITION TITLE: Construction Certified Safety Professional

PROJECT SITE: New Nissan Stadium (Nashville, TN)

DEPARTMENT: Field Operations

REPORTS TO: Managing Director

HOURLY/SALARY STATUS: Exempt

HOURLY/ANNUAL SALARY: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00

POSITION OVERVIEW: Harriott Contracting’s Construction Certified Safety Professional will be able to expertly identify & mitigate workplace hazards to ensure worker safety and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate will be able to develop safety plans, conduct inspections, provide training, and investigate incidents to comply with regulations like OSHA for this project. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years in construction supervision.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety Supervision

- Site Inspection & Hazard Identification: Conducts regular, detailed inspections of construction sites to identify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, defective tools, and non-compliant practices

- Accident Investigation: Investigates accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implements corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

- Monitoring work - Ensure all employees and workers maintain safe work practices.

- Inspecting the site - Regularly inspecting the worksite for potential dangers.

- Assessing plans - Assess plans and blueprints as provided by contractors and subcontractors to ensure they meet OSHA regulations.

- Gathering feedback - Take the time to gather feedback from the builders on site to find ways to improve safety best practices and procedures to keep everyone safe.

- Strong ability - establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers and field supervision and management personnel.

- Safety Culture: Fosters a proactive safety culture on site, encouraging workers to report concerns, actively participate in safety initiatives and. Attend all safety meetings.

COMPETENCIES: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

- Must be comfortable in addressing common construction hazards, such as those related to falls, scaffolding, excavation, electrical, and heavy equipment.

- Perform regular, thorough site inspections and communicate concerns to proactively identify and correct potential hazards.

- Be able to ensure subcontractors comply with all site-specific safety and health requirements.

- Be able to organize and maintain accurate documentation of safety incidents, inspections, and training.

- Must have knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry standards, and best practices to ensure compliance.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

- At least 4 years in construction supervision

- Bachelor's degree or associate degree in safety professional

- 4 + years of professional safety experience

- BCSP Certified (Board of Certified Safety Professionals)

- CSP Certification (Certified Construction Safety Professional)

- SH&E Practice

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

You must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Walking, standing more than 50% of the time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working Conditions: At customer sites - both indoors and outdoors; new construction and renovation. In house – office and warehouse environment
