Concrete Plant Batcher

Bonded Concrete Inc. is looking to add to our high quality, production oriented team at our Pleasant Valley, NY location. Bonded is a premier ready-mix concrete supplier in New York State. It is a member of a family of companies that also produce and supply asphalt, sand and gravel, crushed stone, mulch, and top soil with over 25 locations in New York State, Massachusetts and Connecticut. We operate under other trade names such as Troy Sand & Gravel, Century Aggregates, Century Acquisition and Material Sand & Gravel.

Responsibilities:

Using our computerized automated batching system, the operator will be trained to:

· Ensure and perform smooth, efficient, environmentally compliant and safe day-to-day operation of a concrete plant;

· Batch concrete in accordance with pre-specified mix designs and tolerances;

· Coordinate with dispatch and help oversee the delivery team to ensure timely and accurate concrete deliveries;

· Ensure conformance to processing specifications by monitoring process and providing accurate information regarding the operation of the plant;

· Conduct periodical plant and equipment inspections; perform basic maintenance and make equipment adjustments if necessary;

· Order all raw materials and maintain inventories;

· Proactively communicate with customers, employer's QC personnel and other departments regarding plant operation and delivery;

· Assist dispatch and plant manager with daily tasks and resolve issues as the arise;

· Plan, prioritize, schedule, and coordinate activities of plant operation, production, maintenance and personnel support;

· Assist in training of new staff, when required;

· Frequently work more than 50 hours per week; non-traditional hours could be necessary from time to time including night shifts and Saturdays;

· Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction;

· The ability to perform heavy lifting and physical activity in all weather conditions.

Requirements:

Seeking candidates with one of two ideal backgrounds:

1) Prior relevant work experience with respect to an asphalt or ready mix plant or

2) Trade school or in-field developed skills in mechanics, welding/fabrication or electrical (Employer will provide relevant concrete plant training for those meeting the second ideal background).

The Ideal candidate must be comfortable managing a concrete plant operation and being hands on in assuring smooth plant operations.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
