"Build Strong Foundations – We’re Hiring a Concrete Lead Foreman"
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Concrete Lead / Foreman to oversee and manage concrete operations on commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising a team of concrete workers, ensuring the quality of work, adhering to safety standards, and meeting project deadlines. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and hands-on experience with concrete installation, formwork, finishing, and reinforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
•Leadership & Supervision:
•Lead, train, and motivate a team of tradesmen and laborers.
•Assign tasks and provide daily work direction to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
•Foster a positive and productive work environment by maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and morale.
•Project Coordination & Planning:
•Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other trades to develop and implement project schedules.
•Review project plans and blueprints to understand scope of work and materials required.
•Ensure efficient use of materials and resources while minimizing waste and downtime.
•Concrete Placement & Installation:
•Oversee and assist with the mixing, pouring, finishing, and curing of concrete for foundations, slabs, walls, and other structural elements.
•Ensure proper formwork, reinforcement, and placement to meet engineering specifications and code requirements.
•Monitor the curing process and take corrective action if necessary to ensure quality results.
•Quality Control & Safety Compliance:
•Conduct regular inspections of the concrete work to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
•Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for all crew members.
•Address any quality issues or concerns promptly and work with the team to correct them.
•Equipment & Tool Management:
•Oversee the maintenance and proper use of concrete tools, machinery, and equipment.
•Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition and report any malfunctions to management.
•Documentation & Reporting:
•Maintain accurate records of daily activities, materials used, labor hours, and any incidents or safety issues.
•Assist in the preparation of progress reports and updates to the project management team.
•Collaboration & Communication:
•Act as the primary point of contact for the concrete team, providing regular updates to project managers and supervisors.
•Collaborate with other trades and site supervisors to ensure the timely delivery of materials and coordination of tasks.
Requirements:
•Proven experience (5+ years) in concrete work, including formwork, reinforcement, and finishing, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
•Strong knowledge of concrete materials, methods, and industry standards.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
•Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage and motivate a team effectively.
•Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve on the job site.
•Strong commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA guidelines and regulations.
•Proficient in using construction equipment, such as concrete mixers, power trowels, and pumps.
•Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
•High school diploma or equivalent (construction-related certifications or training preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience with commercial projects.
•MUST have a Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
