SUMMARY OF POSITION
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Concrete Laborer to join our construction team. The Concrete Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to the preparation, placement, finishing, and curing of concrete for various construction projects including sidewalks, driveways, foundations, and slabs.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•Assists with setting forms and preparing work areas for concrete placement
•Mixes, pours, and spreads concrete using hand tools and power tools
•Levels and smooths concrete surfaces using screeds, floats, and trowels
•Applies curing compounds to ensure proper setting
•Installs wire mesh, rebar, and other reinforcements as needed
•Operates power vibrators to compact concrete efficiently
•Cleans and maintains tools, equipment, and work areas
•Follows all safety protocols and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
•Assists with demolition and/or site prep as needed
•Performs other tasks such as raking, shoveling and pinning for curb
REQUIREMENTS
•Must be at least 18 years of age
•Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and punctuality
•Previous experience in concrete or construction is preferred
•Ability to lift 50-75lbs and perform physical labor in various weather conditions
•Basic knowledge of construction tools and techniques
•Ability to read and follow instructions and blueprints
•Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
•Familiarity with power and hand tools
WORK ENVIORMENT
•Outdoor job sites in various weather conditions
•May involve working around heavy equipment and loud noise
•Requires standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy materials for extended periods
•May require overtime or weekend work depending on project deadline
•Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required
