Assist Finisher Foreman in the direction and supervision of crew for all footings and foundation. Learn and refine skill of placing and finishing slabs and architectural concrete. Able to set string lines, forms and establish slab grade benchmarks. Develop the abilities of other crew members, run small jobs and deliver a high-quality product to our clients. Always have an awareness of safety for yourself and those around you. o Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship (preferred)

o This position involves work at construction sites where duties will be performed both indoors and outdoors. Cold and hot conditions will be experienced, including inclement weather.

o Hours are often 10 or more hours a day, 50 or more hours a week, as work demands. Work hours can be seasonal.
The Concrete Finisher reports to the Finisher Foreman and is responsible for a wide variety of duties specific to completing a job. All duties are specific to their role in the system and its efficiency.
o Safety – Follow safety procedures to ensure safety of self and crew at all times. Use PPE while on the jobsite (i.e. hard hat, safety glasses, ear protection, high visibility vest, steel toe boots and gloves)
o Read plans and install forms, block outs, vapor barrier and reinforcement per the drawings
Supervise form setting and check for grade, plumb and straightness.
o Verify subgrade, check that all thickened slab footings are accounted for and in place
o Set anchor bolt templates per shop drawings
o Layout rebar templates for all vertical bar.
o Supervise the setting grade pins and screed rails
o Supervise the setup of laser screeds, confirming and checking all benchmarks
o Establish grades, set up all types of residential concrete, including stoops and patios
o Supervise the placement and tying of reinforcement.
o Establish grades and slopes per the drawings, Set string lines and benchmarks accordingly
o Determine what cold or hot weather measures to observe.
o Stocking Trucks/Trailers – Keeping trucks and trailers organized, stocked (including safety supplies) and ready for deployment to job.
o Professional Experience – Making the process a professional endeavor and generating a positive experience for the customer, others involved in the project and the team.
Other: Periodic or occasional tasks or responsibilities as assigned or required may include, but are not limited to: cleaning shop, facilitate equipment/facility repairs and maintenance, wash/clean work trucks, wash/grease boom trucks.
· Attendance/Timeliness – Work all scheduled shifts. This means being clocked in and ready for work at the start of each scheduled shift, returning from all scheduled breaks on time and remaining at work the entire scheduled shift.
