The Compressor Lead is responsible for ensuring optimal performance, uptime, and compliance of compressors in the field. This role focuses heavily on vendor coordination, performance tracking, and preventative maintenance scheduling — with leadership responsibility to drive reliability and cost efficiency.
- Lead meetings with compressor vendors to review downtime and reliability.
- Prepare/distribute performance reports; consolidate vendor input for internal action.
- Maintain accurate tracking of all compressors, including type, location, and maintenance history.
- Coordinate with vendors on scheduling per OEM standards; confirm completion and address findings.
- Monitor utilization, fuel consumption, and maintenance costs; provide monthly/ad hoc reports to leadership.
- Ensure activities meet safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in compressor operations, maintenance coordination, or oil and gas field operations
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in mechanical, petroleum, or industrial systems preferred
- Ability to translate technical performance data into actionable steps for vendors and internal teams
- Skilled in vendor relationship management and contract negotiations
- Proficient in downtime reporting tools, maintenance tracking systems, and cost analysis spreadsheets
- Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on uptime improvement
- Clear and concise communication skills to align internal and external stakeholders
- Leadership capability to manage multiple concurrent field priorities without sacrificing safety or detail
