Community Relations Intern– 2025-035
Foran Mining Corporation (TSX:FOM) is a forward-thinking mining company redefining the industry. We are seeking a Community Relations Intern to join our growing McIlvenna Bay team. This is a full-time position based at Saskatoon Head Office, working Monday to Friday from 8 am – 4:30 pm for a term period of 4 months (May – August), with occasional travel to local communities and MBO Mine Site.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or a student in the final stages of a relevant program in public or Indigenous relations and communications. The temporary role offers valuable, real-world experience supporting a dynamic team at a company advancing one of Canada’s next major mining projects—and making a difference in the communities where it operates.
This position will support the Director of ESG in the completion of Indigenous and local community engagement and consultation, administration of the community investment program, administration of the Indigenous scholarship program, completion of celebrations or activities for recognition days, internal reporting on community and Indigenous relations and climate change, and other activities as directed.
Job Responsibilities:
•Receive, organize the review of, respond to and track community investment program donation requests.
•Support the organization of Foran’s Community Champion program including by tracking attendance at community events.
•Support the organization of community tours, information sessions and meetings.
•Support the preparation of public materials including posters, pamphlets and presentations for community tours, information sessions and meetings.
•Support the preparation of records of engagement including meeting minutes and other formats.
•Support community relations events including by attending at the McIlvenna Bay site and the communities of Cumberland House, Creighton, Flin Flon, Denare Beach, Pelican Narrows, Deschambault Lake and Sandy Bay
•Support the advertisement of Foran’s Indigenous scholarship program
•Support Foran’s reconciliation committee to deliver appropriate activities on Indigenous peoples recognition days or periods.
•Support the completion of cultural training by all Foran employees.
Job Qualifications and Skills:
•Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a field relevant to public or Indigenous relations and communications (or equivalent) preferred OR a student in the advanced stages of their program
•Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook) suite of tools
•Knowledge of Canva software for public communication tools such as creation of posters and graphics
•Class 5 Driver’s License
•Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational and time management skills
•Ability to speak Cree considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $47,200 - $59,000/year based on experience and qualifications.
