About The Role

Are you ready to be part of something exciting? Taseko is on the lookout for a dynamic Community Relations Advisor. Reporting to the Project Manager, Yellowhead, the Community Relations Advisor will join a dynamic team working to advance the Yellowhead Project through Provincial, Federal and Indigenous led Environmental Assessment (EA) processes. Based in Barriere, the successful candidate will be the heartbeat of our engagement efforts, working closely with our valued partners. Your mission? To build strong relationships that have a lasting impact on local communities.


Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing and maintaining positive relationships with local communities and Indigenous Nations
Coordinate and support community engagement initiatives and events with a flair for creativity and inclusivity
Act as a bridge between the Yellowhead Project team and the community, ensuring effective communication
Collaborate with stakeholders to address concerns and find mutually beneficial solutions
Utilize your experience to navigate and address community questions
Record stakeholder engagement
Generate presentation materials and participate in community events
Contribute to community portions of EA and permitting deliverables
Communicate with government, stakeholders, and communities to support design, permitting, and construction of project components
Plan community events including evaluating proposals, controlling costs and schedules, and coordinating deliverables
Other responsibilities as required or as assigned


Skills and Competencies

Previous experience in community engagement, preference for a focus on mining projects
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences and understand the issues that affect Indigenous culture and industry standards
Strong presentation and public speaking skills
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Passion for fostering positive relationships and building community partnerships
Experience in planning, coordinating and supporting events
Advanced in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team


Qualifications And Experience

Bachelor's degree in First Nations Studies, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience, including overseeing IBAs or similar agreements
3-5 years experience facilitating meetings and/or engagement activities with complex subject matter with diverse audiences, preferably in the context of permitting major projects
Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s license
