Job Summary:
NAES has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Project Engineer to support data center commissioning projects across the US. The Commissioning Project Engineer reports directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for managing and coordinating commissioning activities by owner furnished contractor installed (OFCI) vendors, subcontractors and third-party testing agencies. The Commissioning Engineer plays an integral role in the safe and efficient delivery of all commissioning activities to ensure accuracy and safety throughout the process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee commissioning activities with OFCI vendors, subcontractors, and site superintendents.
- Review and maintain accurate documentation of all commissioning and testing results.
- Lead issue identification, root cause analysis, and resolution with commissioning teams.
- Develop, implement, and manage engineering procedures, project controls, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, contract obligations, and overall project schedules.
- Provide technical support for construction planning, design reviews, constructability assessments, and conflict resolution.
- Represent the company in meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and project management teams.
- Collaborate with on-site teams to resolve issues and maintain quality standards throughout construction and commissioning.
- Proven ability to coordinate and schedule construction and commissioning activities.
- Hands-on experience in construction project engineering and building commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards.
- Solid understanding of how commissioning integrates with other project functions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of personnel.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness and ability to travel as project needs require.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent technical training and work experience
- 7+ years of construction experience - 7+ years of experience with commissioning processes
